Anantnag, May 1: Despite clear-cut directions from the higher authorities, the administration in Anantnag district of South Kashmir has again failed to take over some private nursing homes for providing exclusive treatment to pregnant women who report from Red and Buffer Zones of the district.
On Thursday, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang K. Pole had regretted the death of pregnant women at Maternity and Child Care Hospital Anantnag and directed Deputy Commissioner to take over a private nursing home for providing ‘exclusive’ treatment to pregnant women from red and buffer zones, however sources revealed to Early Times that on Friday the administration although discussed the issue but didn’t arrive at any conclusion.

SRINAGAR, May 1: The Kashmir valley continues to report fresh cases of Corona Virus with 25 more persons today testing positive for COVID-19. These cases were reported from as many as seven districts of the valley.
With today’s fresh cases the number of positive cases in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir has reached 639. Since 247 COVID-19 patients have recovered and eight others have died the number of active cases of Corona Virus in Jammu & Kashmir are 384. In Kashmir there are 378 active cases while as the number is six in Jammu division.

New Delhi, May 1: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a former sarpanch from north Kashmir for allegedly supplying arms to the Hizbul terrorists in the DSP Davinder Singh case.
Sources say Tariq Ahmad Mir - a former sarpanch from north Kashmir’s Shopian district - was an arms conduit who provided logistic support and arms to Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Naveed Babu.
Naveed Babu was arrested along with tainted DSP Davinder Singh on January 11, this year.

Srinagar, May 1: Four districts among Srinagar were declared as COVID-19 red zones in Jammu and Kashmir by Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Friday while 12 other districts were confirmed as Orange Zones and rest of the four as Green Zones.

BANDIPORA, May 1: Thirty one persons who were shifted into administrative quarantine for having a contact with the COVID positive patient or a Covid suspect were discharged today after they tested negative and completed the quarantine period, while as six positive cases have been reported in Kupwara and one each in Baramulla and Bandipora today.
