Jammu, June 14: Even as the Jammu and Kashmir Police achieved a breakthrough by unearthing a major Pakistan sponsored narco-terror module in Handwara area of north Kashmir, sources said the dons have been close to a politician from the same Kupwara district.

Srinagar, June 14: Two of the officers from Kashmir have come under scanner for the allegedly prolonged quarantine of migrant workers to “mint personal fortunes.”
Sources said the government of Jammu and Kashmir has got credible inputs that the districts of Anantnag and Budgam had kept non-locals in quarantine for around 40 days.
Sources said two officers, who were previously holding key positions in the said districts had allegedly unlawfully kept the non-local laborers in the “prolonged quarantine” though such a facility was supposed to be only for a maximum period of 14 days.

SRINAGAR, June 14: As four more COVID-19 affected patients lost their lives in the past 24 hours the death toll due to Corona Virus in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 59. At the same time 163 fresh cases of the virus were reported today.
Reports said that while three COVID-19 patients died in Kashmir valley one such person died in the Jammu division. Jammu, June 14: The Union Territory of Ladakh recorded 112 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of those infected with the disease to 549, officials said on Sunday.
However, 80 of the patients have already been cured and subsequently discharged from hospitals, while one person had died of the disease, they said.
The officials said a total of 112 new positive cases were reported, including 104 from Kargil district and eight from Leh district.
“The number of active cases in Ladakh stands at 468 -- 404 in Kargil and 64 in Leh. The condition of all of them is stable,” an official of the health department said.
