Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 14: The Junior Agriculture Extension Officers (JAEOs) of the Department of Agriculture in the Kashmir Division are an aggrieved lot and they have voiced concern over the issuance of some orders that have dented their promotion. A group of JAEOs while talking to Early Times said the rescinding of promotion orders one after the other of Kashmir based agriculture technocrats has led to resentment among them since it goes against their promotional prospects. They said that despite adherence of norms the orders awarding promotion to them were rescinded. “A tentative seniority list of Agriculture Extension Assistants of Kashmir was notified vide Agriculture Order No: 297/Estt. of 2018 dated 26-09-2018 for which objections were invited from the aggrieved officials with regard to various issues which have been disposed off on their merits and necessary corrections were also made as per the rules in vogue,” said the employees. Early Times Report Srinagar, June 14: Two of the officers from Kashmir have come under scanner for the allegedly prolonged quarantine of migrant workers to “mint personal fortunes.” Sources said the government of Jammu and Kashmir has got credible inputs that the districts of Anantnag and Budgam had kept non-locals in quarantine for around 40 days. Early Times Report Jammu, June 14: The Union Territory of Ladakh recorded 112 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of those infected with the disease to 549, officials said on Sunday. However, 80 of the patients have already been cured and subsequently discharged from hospitals, while one person had died of the disease, they said. The officials said a total of 112 new positive cases were reported, including 104 from Kargil district and eight from Leh district. “The number of active cases in Ladakh stands at 468 -- 404 in Kargil and 64 in Leh.
