Wazir murder case: After arresting Harmeet, Delhi Police likely to get more leads

Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 19: In a big success Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested Harmeet Singh, the alleged mastermind of the high-profile sensational murder case of former MLC Trilochan Singh Wazir. With the arrest of Harmeet Singh, sleuths of the Crime Branch of Delhi Police is likely to get some more leads in the murder. After the arrest of two accused, Rajender Chaudhary alias Raju and Balbir Singh alias Billa three days back, Harmeet Singh and Harpreet Singh Khalsa were absconding. Now with the arrest of Harmeet Singh cops are likely to get more leads. “Arrest of Harmeet Singh is a big success for cops because he (Harmeet Singh) is alleged mastermind of the murder”, sources said and added that some locals from Jammu are likely to be questioned by Delhi Police in this regard. Notable on September 12 Harmeet Singh had posted a purported confession letter on Facebook. ACB arrests SHO, other Policeman for taking bribe

Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 19: Anti-Corruption Bureau on Sunday arrested Station House Officer and a Head Constable of police station Awantipora in South Kashmir while taking bribe. A police officer vigilance team trapped SHO Awantipora G. M Rather and HC Mohammad Afzal. The police officer further said that according to ACB, they accepted taking bribe money of Rs 8000, however the money hasn’t been recovered yet. More details are awaited....

JK reports 168 new Covid cases

Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Sept 19: The Government on Sunday informed that 168 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 15 from Jammu division and 153 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 327941. Moreover, 154 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 26 from Jammu Division and 128 from Kashmir Division. Besides this, 77.31 percent of the population above the age of 18 years has been vaccinated across Jammu and Kashmir. Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 19: Night curfew to continue and the limit for indoor and outdoor activities also remain 25 persons in the Jammu and Kashmir, where authorities have already reopened educational institutions with limited in person teaching subject to 100 per cent vaccination. Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 19: Two sisters were killed and as many persons, including their father, were injured in a road accident on Srinagar-Leh national highway on Sunday, official sources said. They said a private car on way to Srinagar skidded off the road at Zero point Zojila pass resulting in injuries to four persons. The injured were rescued and shifted to hospital where two of them identified as Taheena Parveen (28) and Tahira Bano (18), daughters of Nissar Ahmad Lone, resident of Drass, at present Kangan, were declared brought dead. Troops foil infiltration bid in Uri sector

Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 19: Alert troops on Sunday foiled a major infiltration bid in Uri sector in north Kashmir district of Baramulla, official sources said. They said troops guarding Line of Control (LoC) noticed a group of militants entering into this side from POK at Angoori post in Uri sector in the wee hours under the cover of darkness. However, when challenged infiltrators opened fire, they said adding troops also retaliated.
