Resolution shot to Rahul Gandhi against Lal Singh
Azad's reluctance triggers hectic developments

Rebel Cong candidate likely in fray.....!
ET Report
Jammu, Mar 15: As the Congress continues to keep cards close to its chest, hectic developments are taking place within and outside the party with respect to choice of candidate for the Doda-Udhampur seat. Reluctance on part of Union Health Minister has triggered a flurry of activity within the party with all legislators and leaders from Chenab Valley region up in arms against any move to give mandate to Lal Singh for this seat, with the main contention that he has bleak chances of registering victory from this seat. They have shot a resolution to this effect to party Vice president Rahul Gandhi citing reasons as to why Lal Singh should not contest from this Parliamentary constituency. On the other hand while ruling ally National Conference is also opposed to any move of extending support to Lal Singh, one more development that is set to give jolt to the party leadership suggests that a rebel Congress candidate may be seen in fray in the event of Lal Singh given mandate for contesting on this seat. While the candidate would be a man from the Congress background, he would be projected as an 'Aam Admi Congressman' with thrust eating out a huge of chunk of Congress vote bank while raking up issues that would go against Lal Singh as official party candidate.
The text of the letter/resolution signed by the party legislators and senior leaders goes as follows:
Bugle of Lok Sabha polls has been sounded throughout the country and going by the press-reports appearing in a section of print/electronic media, Congress workers from throughout the length and breadth of Udhampur-Kathua-Doda segment as well as across the State were elated to have former Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, as the party candidate from the said parliamentary segment.
Now that another news-item has appeared in newspapers that Azad Saheb is not being spared by the central high command to contest elections from Udhampur. The said news has sent a dampener in the warm spirits of the party cadres as well as general public of entire State.
And that decision to repeat sitting M.P. shall be 'suicidal' for the party as he has nil choice of victory. Making Azad Saheb as candidate from Udhampur-Kathua-Doda segment means:
* Sure-shot victory from Udhampur as well as boost to party prospects in other parliamentary segments for Congress - NC coalition in the State. Pertinent to reiterate here that there is no man barring Azad Saheb who can win this tipsy-turvy M.P.-seat for Congress. The said seat had been in the kitty of BJP for three consecutive terms before the same was wrested by Cong-PDP coalition in 2004 and then by Cong-NC coalition by 10,000 votes in 2009.
*Better prospects for Congress in coming Assembly elections in the State too.
* In party interest and national interest too, as in view of train of developmental activities initiated during the regime of Ghulam Nabi Azad while he was Chief Minister of J & K. His name is synonymous with defusing and rather undoing the stalemate in J & K vis-a-vis channelising the potential and energies of the Youth of the state towards heralding an era of progress, prosperity, competitiveness and value-based politics in the State. Bridging the ever-widening gap between the three regions and promote the message of friendship, cooperation, brotherhood and healthy mutual co-existence without falling a prey to divisive and fundamentalist forces. Waiting anxiously for an exact and early response at your end please.
