Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 15: The outgoing president of Athwas organisation has demanded freezing of Athwas Foundation accounts by Ellaqai Dehati Bank, Subash Nagar Branch till elections.
In a letter to Manager of the Bank today, the outgoing president of the organization Kusum Dhar demanded that the accounts of the organisation be freezed and no cheques entertained as the organization stands already dissolved by her on the majority decision of members.
She said that the new body of the organisation duly elected after the elections will take a decision in this regard. Mrs Dhar in her letter to the Manager of the Bank said that she was elected as the president of the Foundation and the papers of the same were presented in the Bank office for the purpose of operation of bank account in the year 2012. ``Consequently, I in my capacity as head of the organisation made certain communications to you for ensuring proper use and financial propriety of the organisation and the latest being dated 15-01-14 where under you have been requested to ensure that no cheque/ withdrawal is accepted without my signatures as president of the Foundation, the letter added''. The letter further said that due to some bickering and unwanted situation ``I was constrained to dissolve the existing Governing body of the organisation, including the post of president to pave way for constitution of new Governing body of the organization.''
Dhar was surprised to know that she had been unceremoniously removed from the post of president through a vote of no confidence by `vested interests' while she was away for a while. "I do not want that the money deposited in the EDB should either go waste or be misused as this money belongs to entire media fraternity," she said.
Dhar urged the bank authorities that in view of these facts the authorities should freeze the accounts till the new body is constituted by the Foundation after elections. She also urged the bank authorities to ensure that no cheque /withdrawal form /negotiable instrument is honoured till the time new elected body presents the notification from Election authority.
