BJP gives another setback to Lal Singh by appointing Nirmal Singh as campaign committee chairman

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 14: By appointing Dr Nirmal Singh as chairman of the Election Campaign Committee, the BJP high command has given a clear signal to Choudhary Lal Singh that party is not going to accept his terms and conditions for joining BJP. Choudhary Lal Singh, who has resigned from Congress after castigating both Ghulam Nabi Azad and Saif-ud-Din Soz last month, has announced to join BJP. He would most probably join BJP on August 25 when national president of the party Amit Shah is visiting Jammu to formally kick start party's campaign for Assembly elections.
Credible sources in the BJP said that before resigning from Congress, Choudhary Lal Singh was putting some terms and conditions before the BJP leadership for joining. The BJP high command had asked Singh to quit Congress party and only then party would give a look to his conditions. As soon as Lal Singh quit Congress party BJP leadership started ignoring him as party leadership is aware that it would be difficult to handle him in a disciplined organisation like BJP.
Credible sources said that Choudhary Lal Singh was demanding that keeping in view his political stature he should be appointed as chairman of the Election Campaign Committee so that he would go to the people with a message that he has joined BJP on his own terms. But the BJP high command has ignored Choudhary Lal Singh’s request and appointed Dr Nirmal Singh as chairman of the Election Campaign Committee. BJP leadership is very much aware that after resigning from Congress party, Choudhary Lal Singh has no other option but to join BJP so party has decided to induct him on its own terms and conditions. Instead of allowing Choudhary Lal Singh to influence the party, the BJP leadership has decided to impose own conditions on former Lok Sabha member. Choudhary Lal Singh's press conference which he had addressed as Congress leader in the month of January 2014 in which Lal Singh had passed some provocative remarks against Narendra Modi has already circulated among senior BJP leaders including some Central leaders.
Credible sources said that RSS leadership was putting pressure on the BJP leadership not to give important posts to "outsiders". It was all due to the RSS pressure that Dr Nirmal Singh has given this important assignment.
