Recent killings of cops reveal terrorists regrouping in State | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Aug 14: The killing of two cops and a civilian in two separate militant attacks in Pulwama district of South Kashmir and hijacking of a private taxi by militants at Patnitop two days back has revealed that militancy has got a fresh lease of life in Valley. The repeated militant incidents are an indication that terrorist factions are regrouping in the State to create terror especially after the terror created by ISIS in Iraq. The resurfacing of terrorist violence has also put a question mark on the demand of ruling National Conference on revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA). The increasing terror violence in Valley has also put a question mark on Government's policy on return of Kashmiri Pandits back to Valley as majority of community members feel that under the prevailing circumstances the return and rehabilitation was not possible. The increasing incidents of terrorists have also exposed the security lapses in the State and put a question mark on their functioning. The terrorist violence has also exposed the people in Valley to a grave risk and in case the Government fails to break the network of terrorists and separatist forces the life of peace loving people will be put to a grave risk. As some political and defence analysts have already cautioned Government about the growing influence of ISIS on separatists in the Valley who also exhibited the posters in praise of the dreaded terrorist outfit of Iraq the situation in the State is becoming volatile day by day. Sources said that in Tanki pora area of Srinagar City the anti national elements have displayed name of ISIS in praise and this is turning to be a dangerous trend in case the dreaded outfits like ISIS , ISI of Pakistan, Lashkar-e-Toiba (L E T), Taliban of Afghanistan, and other dreaded militant outfits like Al Qaida . The analysts while cautioning the Government have suggested increasing vigil by security agencies and taking of pre-emptive measures to break the nexus, sources added. Sources said these analysts have urged the Government to tighten its grip on terrorists and separatists in theState and send a clear signal all around that India will act tough against terror how strong the network may be. |
