BJP holds Omar responsible for having failed on ground zero | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 14 : A three-member team of the Bharatiya Janata Party that returned to Jammu from Kashmir has accused chief minister Omar Abdullah for making lame excuses and charged him for having failed to own up that he had failed miserably to govern, and lead in this hour of crisis. BJP state vice-president and Kashmir incharge Ramesh Arora and state spokesperson Arun Kumar Gupta, who had gone to Srinagar under the leadership of state general secretary Ashok Kaul, addressed mediapersons here on Sunday and came down heavily on the state's coalition government for its total failure in such a situation. Arora said the state government led by Omar Abdullah was nowhere to be seen on ground. There are no officials, no rescue, and relief efforts by the state government and whatever was available was only due to the efforts of Army and other forces. Gupta, while describing the ground situation as horrendous with people stranded all over and not being provided any support by the state government, said that it sends a chill down one's spine because it was so bad. He admitted that touring the ground zero has given them a perspective that was perhaps just not possible by reading newspaper and watching TV. The worst fear yet to come was stagnant water all over Srinagar, Anantnag, Badgum, Kulgam and other districts, which will pose a very serious condition of uncontrollable epidemic. The team was assisted by Ali Mohammed Mir, central zone president, Farooq Ahmed Dar, a social activist and Haleema Uri, state secretary. |
