Srinagar, Feb 14: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and languages sponsored artists enthralled the audience here at Kalagram at Aurangabad in a program jointly organized by West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, Cultural Affairs, Maharashtra, South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur, Tourism Development Corporation, Maharashtra and Local Administation, Aurangabad from February 13 to 15. According to press release, in the inaugural day Uma Kant Dangat, Divisional Commissioner, Aurangabad was the chief guest, Prakash Mahajan, Municipal Commissioner, Aurangabad, Ajay Ambekar, Director, Cultural Affairs, Maharashtra and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages were guests of Honour. Layak Hussain, programme organizer, West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur was also present on the presidium. While speaking on the occasion, Uma Kant said that India is worldly popular as of diverse culture and unity in diversity is the real identity of India. He said that this festival of various cultural representations from Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Telgana, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka and Aurangabad succeeded in giving the message of oneness. In this mega festival the artists of Jammu and Kashmir perf ormed Rouf (Kashmiri), Jagrna (Dogri), Geetru (Dogri). Jabro (Ladakhi), Kud (Dogri), Dhammali (Kashmiri), Band Pather (Kashmiri), Chhajja (Dogri), Dastaan (Kashmiri), Jeenda (Pahari), Mahiya (Gojri). All the performances were highly appreciated and well received with great applause in the inaugural day. |
