2/14/2015 11:33:27 PM
Jammu, Feb 14 : The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is fast losing its subscribers in Kalakot town of district Rajouri, as mobile network frequently goes missing, and authorities have failed to restore its communication Network in the area, disrupted about a week back. As the poor connectivity particularly that of Cellphones has become a constant source of annoyance in Kalakot, the BSNL subscribers thereare forced to swap their connections with private mobile service provider companies. Sources said that BSNL service not going well since the mobile towers in the town were installed around 10 years back. "Expert teams come and go to the area to fix the problem but things remained un-changed", said Ankush an BSNL mobile subscriber and added, "The last team came few days back, but remained failed to fix the problem erupted January end, Cell phones have turned mute in the region."
People complained that the BSNL communication system has totally collapsed in the affected in the town and the subscribers are force to switch to private Cell phone companies which provide better services. Locals said that from the very beginning the BSNL services in the region have remained poor evoking much public outcry but the only public sector and largest telecommunication service provider never bothered to up-grade its services to the satisfaction of the subscribers despite charging huge rent and call charges. The people said internet and landline service is also dismal, while private companies like Airtel, Aircel and Reliance provide better services at cheaper rates and now people swap their SIM cards with private companies for the sake of connectivity. Naresh, a business man, who recently switched over to a private company connection from BSNL said "He had four BSNL connections in the family from the past four years, despite all connectivity problems we tand with BSNL, but now it has become totally redundant due to mismanagement and all of us opted to switch over to private service providers." "BSNL service is extremely poor in our area and we are facing lot of problems due to the poor connectivity. We raised the issue with the concerned authorities many a times but they have failed to improve the services", he said. He said that they have failed to understand why BSNL was not improving connectivity in the area despite having a good number of subscribers there. "BSNL has proved that it is a government organization which can't be active and it is unfortunate that BSNL despite its vast infrastructural facility is not able to satisfy its consumers, while private telecom service providers are providing much better services to its consumers though they are not so equipped", he added. According to sources the BSNL mobile and landline subscriber base is declining in the region and also the broadband are also failing to match expectations.
