Jammu, Feb 23: The NSS Unit of Dogra College of Education inaugurated its seven days Awareness Camp comprising of 80 NSS volunteers at Govt. High School, Chak Jaralan, Teh Bishnah, Jammu today. The camp was inaugurated by Kuldeep Raj Saini, Principal of the school in the presence of Jatinder Singh Sarpanch, Rattan Lal Sharma, Lambarder of the Village, Faculty members and students of the high school. Welcome Address was presented by Rajni Manhas, Programme Officer, NSS Unit of the College. In her address she motivated the volunteers to put their maximum efforts for the upliftment of the society through their services during the camp activities. She also mentioned the main activities to be executed by the NSS Volunteers during the upcoming days which included socio- economic surveys, cleanliness drive, awareness rallies, dental check up, literacy programme, yoga exercises, plantation drive and free medical camp. Earlier, Shefali Sharma, Vice Principal of the College in her inaugural address emphasised that the Moto of National Service Scheme is "Not me but you" which is the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and appreciation of the others' point of view. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra educational Trust, Prof B. D. Damral, Director cum Principal, Dogra College of Education, Faculty members of Dogra College of Education and all the Panches of the village.
