JAMMU, Feb 23: The ten days second NSS winter camp jointly organized by NSS Unit 1 and 2 of Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu concluded here today. On the concluding day, a rally on No Use of Polythene and Noise pollution was organized. Principal of College, Dr. Kiran Bakshi flaged off the rally which went around the college vicinity while raising awareness slogans and displaying placard on No use of polythene bags and noise pollution. The NSS Volunteers led by NSS Programme Officers Dr. Shiveta Gandotra and Prof. Shrotika Rajput, visited old aged home at Amphalla, where they interacted with elderly and distributed clothes and food items among them. They also presented a musical bonanza there. A guest lecture on animal care with special focus on going vegetarian was organized. Malvika Kalra, animal rights activist, was the resource person on occasion. Dr. Muzzafar Khan, Psychologist from Drug De-addiction Centre, Srinagar, delivered a guest lecture on Drug De-addiction. On February 18th, a lecture on Stress Management was delivered by Dr. Shiveta Gandotra, Assistant Professor in Department of Psychology of the college. Painting competition among the NSS Volunteers was held on No Polythene use in which Usha Jodha, Simran Thakur and Nidhi Dalmotra were adjudged as 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. |
