Kathua, Feb 23 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Former President and renowned scientist APJ Abdul Kalam Azad claimed to develop the country by 2020 AD and talked about development of weaker sections but the ground situation narrates an entirely different story.
People are even deprived off Power supply and have to live a tribal life just 5 km away from Gateway of Jammu & Kashmir, from where state government collects huge revenue.
Mohammad Yusaf, an Imam of Village Mehtabgarh, alleged on all previous government to squash their voice and never provided even single basic amenity.
He said People belong to Bakarwal community but have permanent residents in the village, still government ignores their section to provide power supply.
Imam appraised community live in Iron age as nobody redresses their demand and village turns deep darkness after sun set that paralysis their livelihood and students study. He said government sat up few electric poles in particular area but they also roar for power curtailment and low voltage.
Mohammad Yunis, a Youth, informed that the village situated just 5 km away to Lakhanpur, government collects huge revenue from there but never a single penny is used for development in nearby villages. He informed that deputation called on DDC Kathua who ensured to provide basic amenities but the action is still to be taken. He said Children can't do their homework due to shortage of electricity.
'The whole village turns into darkness that pushes the villagers several years back," he said and requested government officials for visiting the village to enhance their knowledge about under privileged sections. When approached to DDC Kathua, he ensured to pass possible instruction to concerned department and favorable action will be taken soon for the development of the village.
