PSA deputation calls on DSE Jammu, lists demands

JAMMU, Mar 2 : Executive members of Central body of Private Schools Associations (PSA) met with the Director School Education (DSE), Jammu and apprised him about the problems being faced by the private schools of entire state in general and Jammu province in particular. While interacting Prof J L Kotwal told DSE, Jammu Simrandeep Singh that the recent education policy of state government has created hurdles and bottlenecks in the smooth functioning of all private schools which are functioning for more than 20 years. He added that the Association has been pursuing its problems through negotiations as well as through court for simple and single window clearance system. To look into the grievances of the Private Schools Government of Jammu & Kashmir vide Govt. order No. 94- Edu of 2014 Dt.:- 24/01/14 constituted a committee to examine the various issues related to the Private Schools of the entire state. He said on February 15, 2014 committee members discussed number of issues with the representatives nominated by the Government and submitted a complete report to Tushar K Sharma then DSE, Chairman of examining committee, but no decision has taken by the Government till date. He demanded a concrete decision of the report submitted on February 15, 2014. Kamal Gupta, President PSA said to the Director DSE Jammu as some schools have granted recognition in couple of days to some schools upto 8th standard which has given a ray of hope for justice to the private schools. He demanded disposal off all pending files lying in his office by granting recognition as per the recommendation made by the inspecting officer. He also demanded fresh inspections of all schools by deputing inspection team to check the viability of a school for further extension in recognition. He appealed to the Director to issue relevant directions to all CEOs/ZEOs to avoid the harassment of private schools functioning in semi-urban, rural & far flung areas.
DSE Jammu Simrandeep Singh (istened to the members patiently and said that Private schools are part and parcel of the education system.
Singh also assured that he will issue relevant directions to all CEOs/ZEOs within couple of days.
