Udhampur, Mar 3: Police today arrested one person and seized 42 Pouches of illicit liquor from Domail Chenani under the jurisdiction of Police Station Chenani of Udhampur.
"The accused has been identified namely as Finu r/o Mantlai Tehsil Chenani, District Udhampur, police said.
Police said, "On specific information, a police party of Police Station Chenani led by Inspector Ajit Singh, SHO Police Station Chenani intercepted one suspicious and during his frisking police recovered 42 pouches of J&K Excise (Desi Whisky) from his possession." The said accused person was arrested on the spot and pouches of J&K Excise were seized.
Police said that the accused was transporting these pouches in a polythene bag for illegal sale in his native village Mantlai, Chenani. In this connection, a Case FIR No. 10/2015 U/S 48A Ex. Act stands registered at Police Station Chenani and further investigation are on. |
