Early Times Report

Rajouri, Mar 20: At one hand people of Rajouri district including flood affected have been organizing protest demonstrations alleging shortage of safe drinking water, ration at fair price shops, power cuts and other basic amenities and to its sharp contrast officers associated with relief distributions and concerned SDMs and Tehsildars have been claiming that all the flood victims (enlisted the official beneficiaries' lists) have been compensated under rules.
Many flood victims are of the view that their names were not included in the beneficiary's lists and blue eyed were added and were given undue benefits and others are claiming the administration have failed to provide them free ration and other relief even after a gap of more than five months.
On the other hand officers associated with relief distributions including Mohd Saleem Malik, Additional DC Rajouri and all the concerned SDMs and Tehsildars have been claiming that all the flood affected whose names were included in the beneficiaries' lists have been given the necessary relief, free ration and compensation under rules. In a fresh protest on Thursday inhabitants of village Naili and its adjoining areas in Manjakote tehsil held a protest demonstration before the offices of Deputy Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner and raised slogans against district a administration.

Meanwhile Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Rajouri, Mohd Sallem Malik has assured the protesters that the names of those flood victims will be added in the lists of flood beneficiaries' who were left due to some reasons and soon will be provided with necessary help/relief. Inhabitants of Ghambir Mughlan and its adjoining areas also have also held protest demonstration against the tehsil administrations and blocked Rajouri-Ghambhir Mughlan road for two hours in support of their demand of safe drinking water, regular supply of ration, repair of damaged roads and availability of doctors at Health Centres.
