Anantnag, Mar 20: Family of a pregnant lady was forced to visit private Nursing Home after she was left unattended for three days at Maternity and Child Care hospital in South Kashmir's Anantnag district courtesy cold and unsympathetic approach of doctors at the said hospital. The incident came back to back when doctors were protesting over 'apron row' without giving second thought to their pledge to works for ailing humans.
The aggrieved Mst Masrat, a resident of Marhama of Bijbehara was admitted in the hospital three days ago but was left unattended for the three consecutive days reasons better known to doctors at the said hospital.

"During three days they (doctors) didn't even administrated her saline, he said, adding, "her condition got worsened and none from the doctors or nurses visited her during three days bed compelling us to shift to nearby private health institution where the she delivered a baby girl." Insider from the hospital on anonymity said that it was not an isolated case. "Due to inadequate infrastructure, poor patients without any serious medical reasons get referred to Srinagar Hospital and many prefer to visit private nursing homes in Anantnag, they alleged.
They further alleged that few doctors and members of the hospital staff are actively working as 'touts' for the private hospitals.
A doctor wishing not be named said that doctors, paramedical staff is in 'unholy nexus' with the private nursing home owners and often create situation so that patients are forced to go to private nursing homes. He said that lack of space and adequate infrastructure is also reason for this growing menace. "Leave staff and attendants aside it has not even space for patients, the doctor anonymous said adding, "two patients are being accommodated on a single bed."
