JU VC inaugurates national conference on trends & computational technologies

Jammu, Mar 20 : A National Conference on Trends in Electronics and Computational Technologies (NCTECT-2015) gets underway in the University of Jammu which is being organized by Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) Jammu Centre in collaboration with Ramnagar Campus of University of Jammu today in the seminar hall of computer science department.
Prof. R D Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu was the chief guest while Prof. Rajni Kant, Chief-coordinator campuses and Rector, Ramnagar Campus, University of Jammu presided over the function while Major General (Retd.) PK Jaggia, VSM, Secretary General IETE, New Delhi, was the guest of honour.
Prof. RD Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu lauded the efforts of the organizers and laid stress on such interdisciplinary activities on the campus. He further said that the theme of the conference is appropriate in the present scenario as it deals with the technological advances and research results in the fields of Electronics and Computers. Maj. Gen P. K Jaggia, in his remarks focused on various activities undertaken by IETE at the national level. He further said "This is an excellent initiative to evaluate the state-of-the-art technologies by bringing together scientists and practitioners facing challenging issues and seeking to elevate the standards of academia by sharing lessons". Earlier, while welcoming the gathering, Dr. Rakesh Vaid, Chairman, IETE Jammu Centre and convener of the conference introduced the topic and threw light on the theme of the conference.
Dr. Parveen Lehana, Hon. Secretary of the IETE Jammu centre and organizing secretary of the conference gave introduction about the organization of this event. He informed that a total of fifty eight presentations are scheduled which includes keynote address by Prof. Satish Chand from NSIT, New Delhi, Dr. Shashi B Rana from GNDU, Amritsar and Dr. Suresh Kumar from Kurukshetra University.
Deepika Sharma, Treasure IETE Jammu centre presented the vote of thanks while the proceeding of the programme was conducted by Dr. Radhika Khanna. Prominent among those present were Sh. J. K. Sharma, Prof. S K Badyal, Mr. Joy Ganjoo, Prof. Pawnesh Abrol, Dr. Suresh Rao, Dr. Susheel Sharma, Er. Vijay Sharma, Dr. Rockey Gupta, Er. Summet Gupta, Er. Joyti Lalotra besides students and faculty members from Ramnagar campus, MIET, MBSCET, members of IETE, research scholars from the department of Physics and Electronics, University of Jammu among others.
