3 including then CMO booked for 'illegal' appointments

Jammu, Mar 20: State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) registered cases against the officers of Health Department including the then Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for illegal appointments of Safaiwalas and Nursing Orderlies in Poonch and Surankote areas.
Official spokesperson said that State Vigilance Organization (SVO) Jammu registered three cases under FIR Nos.13/2015, 14/2015 & 15/2015 in Police Station Vigilance Organization, Jammu u/s 5 (1) (d), 5(2) P.C. Act and 120-B RPC against then Chief Medical Officer Poonch namely Dr Ashok Verma, Dr Mohd Akram Malik and Dr Mumtaz Hussain Shah then Block Medical Officers Surankote, District Poonch and others on the basis of an enquiry conducted by District Vigilance Officer Poonch into the allegations of illegal appointments of Class-IV employees i.e. Nursing Orderlies and Safaiwalas from time to time by depriving the genuine persons in connivance with the accused beneficiaries.
The investigation of these cases has been taken up following complaints alleging them for ignoring the rightful candidates.
