As soon as proceedings for the day started in the assembly on Friday, opposition Congress and National Conference stood on their seats targeting government for its failure to prevent the fidayeen attack.
NC member Davender Singh Rana while targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Now where is the 56 inch chest when the innocent people are dying. What about the claims that a strong message will be given in case of any such provocation".
Pointing towards BJP members, Rana said, "Why you are silent today, otherwise you would have dubbed it as attack on Nation.
Rana demanded for adjourning the house. Dissatisfied with reply by Deputy Chief minister Nirmal Singh, NC member Javed Rana said,"What kind of the government is this who do not have the complete information about the encounter".
Rana said the government's response is unsatisfactory and they are 'ill-informed. "What measures government is tacking to tackle the situation and what is their mobilization. If such incidence has happened earlier you (BJP) have protested and have made all kinds of statements. Now it seems that clinging on to chairs is your only motive", he added.NC member Ali Mohd Sagar said, "The government has no information about what is going on at Rajbagh police station".
Congress member Vikar Rasool said, "The house wants to know what government is doing. How the militants manage to infiltrate to our side whether it was an intelligence failure or a security lapse".
"House should pass a resolution of condemning the attack and paying sympathies with next to bereaved", said Vikar.
CPI(M) member Tarigami said, "There should be a debate on the overall situation. What government intends to do in future to prevent such types of attacks. We all must speak in one voice and condemn the terror attack.

In upper house too trouble started when it commenced in the morning. Congress members stood on their seats condemning the incident.

The whole system has been exposed". "They(Mufti Sayeed) said Pakistan contributed in holding peaceful assembly elections in J&K.
That was absolutely wrong; it is the Pakistan on whose behest innocent lives are taken", said Ravinder.
