Jammu, Mar 27: National conference in Mathematics organized by the Department of Mathematics, Government Gandhi Memorial Science College Jammu in collaboration with Directorate College Development Council University of Jammu culminated with award of certificates among the scholars by the Principal in the valedictory function organised for the purpose.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest, Nodal Principal Prof. Dr. Satinder Singh appreciated the participation of young students and scholars from SMVDU, BGSBU and JU and also appreciated the role of entire mathematics faculty of this college, especially the organising secretary Prof. Dr. Sunil Gupta and HOD Prof. Dileep Raina.
On the occasion, Prof. Dr. KS Charak urged upon the principal of the college and the organising secretary of the conference to arrange such interactive sessions in future too to help students to become qualitative researchers. In this regard he assured of full cooperation from the Jammu University Mathematics Department.
Earlier, during the day mathematician of International repute Dr. S Ponnusamy from IIT, Chennai interacted with a large gathering of participating students in which he provided them a counselling about various job opportunities and researches options for the young scholars and degree holders.
In the poster paper presentation, though research papers of all the scholar participants, where found commendable however the First, Second and Third best Poster papers chosen where those of the students of Govt. Degree College RS Pura, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, and Government College for women Parade Jammu respectively. The wining students were encouraged by giving them medals by the Principal. Prof. Rajesh Gupta from GDC RS Pura received the honour on behalf of his college students. The valedictory function was anchored by faculty member Dr. Shally Gupta and finally vote of thanks was presented by faculty member Dr. Narinder Sharma. |
