Early Times Report jammu, Mar 27: The Vice Chancellor of Jammu University Professor, RD Sharma, who faced a series of protests from some politically motivated student groups believed to be closed lieutenants of the former VC has so far failed to initiate enquiry against the protesters and those who secured jobs through the backdoor. Sources told Early Times that the formidable Vice Chancellor RD Sharma, who did not budge even an inch, during protests and fought valiantly during his stint as acting VC but showed reluctance to enquire the backdoor appointments. "We expected strong action against such elements who maligned the image of the institution but nothing is happening,' concerned people told Early Times. Pertinent to mention a slew of issues erupted overnight in Jammu University and a wave of protests was launched since the day RD Sharma, the acting VC by `so-called' student unions acting at the behest of their political mentors in National Conference led government. Some of the leaders of these protesting organizations have managed jobs for their relatives and themselves in various departments of the varsity with the help of former VC, MPS Isher whose tenure remained very controversial over his decisions, sources informed, adding that they used protests as a tool of pressurize the incumbent VC to evade enquiries into their misdeeds. Sources further said that one of the leaders, had also managed a Ph.D seat, after direct intervention of former VC, MPS Isher, despite the fact that he was not eligible, as he had been pursuing Patwar training and Ph D in Urdu Department simultaneously. Sources said that, it is beyond imagination of the student community and intellectuals, as to why RD Sharma, who did not care of the malicious campaign of these so called leaders, who were hell bent upon to malign his character by waging protests and fought bravely against these obnoxious weeds growing within the varsity, has so far not ordered any inquiry against all these backdoor appointments managed by these leaders in various departments of varsity," they said. |
