PSA slapped against Alam as per law: Govt
4/24/2015 11:53:14 PM
Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Apr 24: A day after senior separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani castigated chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed over Masrat Alam's detention under PSA, government Friday said action will be taken against any person who violates the constitution of the state.
"It is not the state government or any party but the law of the land which governs the state. It is the law of the land which will take action against anyone who violates its content. As far as the battle of ideas is concerned, there is a red line for that as well. We are operating within the constitution and if someone would openly violate it, law will come into force," Mufti's close confidant and education Minister Naeem Akhtar told
While commenting over his recent statement over the new recruitment policy of the government, Akhtar said, "SSRB and PSC would continue to remain functional in the state and that through the new recruitment policy; only 15000 posts will be filled."
"In view of the accumulated vacancies, this decision has been taken by the government so that services are provided in the far flung areas of the state wherein a native would discharge the duties for seven year and then gets regularized. What we have seen is that even if a person gets a job in a border area, he doesn't remains there and strives for the transfer. We have this policy under which a person has to discharge duties in his/ her native area only," Akhtar said, adding the selection will be made purely on the basis of merit with the adoption of transparent mechanism.
"There is another misconception. The government has not changed the cadre of any post. If the post is of the state cadre nature, any person from the state can apply. Same format is applicable for the district cadre posts," the Education Minister said and added, "Normal procedure for other vacant posts would remain in vogue and PSC and SSRB would continue to function normally. The new recruitment policy is aimed only to speed up the recruitment in remote process in remote areas of the state."
