Govt committed to redress grievances of people at their doorsteps: Sunil Sharma

KISHTWAR, May 2: Minister of State for R&B and Revenue Sunil Sharma today said that the Government is committed to redress the grievances and sufferings of the people living in far flung and backward areas of the State by extending all basic services to their doorsteps in a phased manner.
For the purpose short term and long term planning is being made and a discernable change would be seen on the ground in near future, the Minister told people at a Public Grievance Redressal camp-cum- Public Darbar held at Nagseeni Block of District Kishtwar .
Sharma said that Government is fully aware about the problems and burning issues of the people in the area and steps are being taken to mitigate them in shortest possible time. He said far reaching reforms are being introduced in all the Departments to improve service delivery expedite development projects. He said that the field functionaries of all the line departments have been directed to work with transparency, accountability and honesty for the benefit and welfare of poor masses. Regarding the issue of Job Cards, the Minister revealed that no ration card is required for the same and only chowki chullah card from the concerned Chowkidar can enable a person to get a job card. He also revealed that for getting the benefits of Widow and Old age pension scheme of Social Welfare Department the formalities have been decreased and now there is no need of any Medical Certificate and other documents. "Just a certificate from the concerned Numberdar and Chowkidar is required to avail benefits under the said schemes" he said.
During the Public Darbar, Naib Sarpanch, Pullar (Sumna Bhata) Chatar Singh apprised that 150 families of Pullar-Ajnana-Kotna villages have been temporarily shifted to safer places in tented accommodations after due to a major land slide threat. He also informed that 75 families of Village Bhata, 52 families of Lolna (Galhar Bhata) Village have also been shifted in temporary accommodations (Tents).
