International Yoga Day celebrated across the state

Jammu, June 21 : Various Social Organizations, School Institutes, Political leaders, State police and Army personnel celebrated International Yoga Day on Sunday by participating in mass performances at various places across the state. On International Day of Yoga was celebrated at the campus of Government Polytechnic Jammu. The proceedings of the programme began with introduction to benefits of incorporating yoga into our daily lives. The program was organized by NSS volunteers of the institute under the guidance of NSS Coordinator Er. Khalid Sheikh. While joining the nation and world in first International Yoga Day celebrations, the NSS Unit of Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar commemorated World Yoga Day here today. A team of yoga experts led by Prof. Uma Sharma, Vice President, Patanjali Yog Samiti, J&K demonstrated various yoga techniques and their benefits among the students and staff of college. Centre for Women's studies and the Yoga Centre, University of Jammu celebrated Yoga Day by conducting one week training program in Yoga 15th June to 21st June 2015 for female employees (Teaching/ Non-teaching)/females' scholars/students and family members of the University employees. The students of The Yoga Centre and five children from different school performed yogasanas with profound the flexibility which simply mesmerized the audience.
Observing the First International Yoga Day, the Yoga Day events organised at Channi Himmat. The event was attended by Speaker J&K Assembly & MLA Gandhi Nagar Kavinder Gupta. AYUSH department of ministry of Health, Pitanjali Vidya Yog Samiti, Bharat Swabhiman Trust and the district administration celebrated Yoga day in Ramban. MLA, Ramban, Neelam Langeh presided the main celebration of the 1st International Yoga Day in district Ramban at Ram Lila ground, Maitra today morning.
Yoga lovers from all over Reasi came together at Mini sports stadium Reasi to celebrate the ancient Indian practice. MLA Reasi-Ajay Nanda, Deputy Commissioner Reasi-Sushma Chauhan and a large number of district officers also participated in the event. On the eve of IST International Day of Yoga , District Yoga Championship was held today at Subash Stadium Udhampur . The medals were distributed among the boys , girls who have participated in the championship besides national level players were also felicitated by Anil Gupta Yoga team coach and International Refree. Observing the First International Yoga Day, all ranks participated in the Yoga Day events organised at Udhampur Garrison. A Yoga demonstration and participation camp was held at Bikram Park which was attended by a large number of serving personnel. Under the guidence of instructors, all ranks participated with great interest and enthusiasm in various Yoga exercises and Asanas. National Development Organization organized International day of Yoga along with other organizations. The local people of Rajouri participated in the programme. Sarpanches, Panches also attended the programme. NSS units of Government Degree College Udhampur celebrated International Yoga Day by performing Yoga Asanas along with NCC cadets of District Udhampur and District Reasi in the College campus. During this function Minister of State for IT &, Finance Pawan Kumar Guptar was the Chief Guest who also performed Yoga.
On the occasion of International Yoga Day, Army and Air force including Nagrota Garrison, Satwari Jammu, Akhnoor, Sunderbani, Pallanwala, Jourian and forward post along the Line of Control, Air Force Station Jammu and NCC Cadets of 2nd Jammu and Kashmir Battalion NCC Group were performed Yoga. All ranks of Indian Army and Indian Air Force personnel at Jammu took great pride and participated with full vigour to mark the event a grand success. In order to recognized the significance of Yoga, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region in association with Aaradhaya Yoga Trust, Nirvana Academy, Club, and other likeminded organizations celebrated INDYA (International Day of Yoga) with demonstration of yogic postures and practice with a Theme of "Yoga For Harmony & Peace" at Peer Kho Park, Circular Road, Jammu in which large number of Sadhaka participated.World Yoga Day was celebrated by Indian Army's 14 Corps at Siachen Glacier, Leh, Kargil and other forward locations along the borders. The event at Leh was attended by over 500 personnel included Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers and Jawans of the Leh Garrisson. Large attendances were also organised at Siachen, Kargil and other forward locations along the borders.
Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Yuva Kriti celebrated International Yoga Day on the auspious occasion of International Yoga at Govt. High school Raipur Satwari Jammu in which thousand youth from the Youth clubs, Mahilla Mandals of district Jammu and Samba participated. To mark the first international Yoga Day, the students of Bhartiya Vidiy Mandir, High School, Ramban performed Yoga Pranayam and meditation as per the Common Yoga Protocol issued by the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India, at Ramban today. The international yoga Day was organized at Jammu Table tennis Accademy at Nanak Nagar Jammu The camps was organizes by Sh. Ramesh Magotra sr. Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha Parade Jammu celebrated International Yoga Day in which not only the members of Brahman Community but also from the other community in large number participated under the guidance of Devkinandan Pangotra Advo. In order to recognized the significance of Yoga, Vichar Kranti Manch celebrated International Yoga Day. Kavinder Gupta, Speaker J&K State Legislative Assembly was the Chief Guest, Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor Central University, Jammu, presided over the function, ID Soni, State Commissioner Bharat Scouts and Guides was the Guest of Honor and Soujanya Sharma, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation was the Special Guest of honor. Government Girls Higher Secondary School Jakh celebrated International Yoga Day in the school premises. A large number of students, staff members and local peoples of Jakh performed Yoga including the Vajarasan and Padmasan under the guidance of Pt. Des Raj (Yoga Expert). Helpline Humanity affiliated with Nehru Yuva Kendra Jammu Ministry of youth affairs and sports govt of India was celebrated the international yoga Day at Nagrota on the occasion MK Bhat president Helpline Humanity was the chief guest.
To mark the celebration of International Yoga Day on 21st June, a series of events on the topic YOGA were organized at Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET). Dr. Seema Narain, Director, YCET, felicitated the resource persons by presenting a bouquet and Er. Rajnish Magotra, COD Civil Engg., delivered the welcome address. International Yoga day on June 21st, 2015 was celebrated in the Lawns of Government MAM College, Jammu by the NCC and NSS Wing of the College. The Objective was of evolving the spirit so that the animal in man becomes subservient to it and this is the ultimate Goal of all true Religions.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Kashmir unit organized International Day of Yoga here at Jhelum View Park, near zero bridge, Rajbagh, on Sunday. BJP believes that: "Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being." To mark the celebration of International Yoga Day, Government Degree College Gool organizes awareness programme on the importance of Yoga in day to day life, in the college premises today. Various students of college, school and local community were invited in the college to include them aware regarding practicing yoga, as it works on the body, mind, emotion, energy and help in live life to its full potential. Antar-Rashteray Yoga Diwas (Inter-national Yoga Day) was celebrated with full gaiety, fervor and enthusiasm today at Historic Parade ground (Chowgan), Kis-htwar in which Minister MOS R&B and Revenue Sunil Kumar Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion. On the International Yoga Day, BJP leader Ishfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal and other celebrated Yoga day and pitched for introducing the "Yoga Education" in curriculum across the nation especially the Jammu and Kashmir state.
As the International Day of Yoga for physical, mental and Spiritual practice, District Police Reasi has also celebrated International Yoga Day and organized yoga programmes at different Police Units in District Reasi. Like in other parts of the country and the world people in the frontier District of Kargil celebrated the International Day of Yoga by assembling at the Helipad Kargil, Play Ground of High School Baroo Kargil and Inqilab Manzil Kargil. Like the other parts of world, Yoga lovers from all over Kastigarh came together at playground Government Higher Secondary School Kastigarh (Doda) to celebrate the ancient Indian practice. Principal Govt HSS Kastigarh Swarn Singh, Police Post Incharge Kastigarh Moh'd Sharief, Ex- Tehsildar Natha Singh and a large number of Staff of Govt HSS Kastigarh, other department officers, school students, public also participated in the event. Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kathua in collaboration with District administration, AYUSH, Art of living, Youth Clubs, Mahila Mandals, organized a district level function at Sports Stadium, Kathua in which over 1400 participants viz: children, students, young, old, officials participated and performed Yoga Exercises. Rajiv Jasrotia, MLA Kathua was Chief Guest and Ajay Singh Jamwal, Deputy Commissioner, Kathua as Guest of Honor. Various senior officials of district administration and prominent citizens of Kathua participated and performed Yoga Assans. To celebrate first International Yoga Day, Art of Living Foundation organized one day Yoga camp at Government College for Women Parade, here today. Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta was the chief guest and Minister of State for Education, Culture and Information Priya Sethi was special guest on the occasion.
MLAs Sat Sharma and Rajesh Gupta and Senior Leader BJP Yudhvir Sethi also attended the camp. Among others the event was attended by Director School Education, Jammu Yasha Mudgal, Principal, GCW Hemla Aggarwal, Chief Education Officer, Jammu Joginder Sudan and Assistant Vice- Chairman, J&K Bank Raman. Minister of State for Education, Culture and Information Priya Sethi today inaugurated mass Yoga Camp at GGM Science College The Camp was organised by the NCC 2nd Boys Battalion as part of celebrations on the occasion of first International Yoga day. Senior Leader BJP Yudhvir Sethi also present on the occasion. Priya and Yudhvir joined thousands of NCC officers, ranks of the Corps, cadets and students in performing yoga. Over 3000 NCC cadets with 50 Associate NCC officers attended the camp. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion include, Commanding Officer Lt. Col Manisha SRS, Group Commander Jammu Group Brigadier Rajan Jamwal and Govind Sharma. As part of celebration of the International Day of Yoga, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board organised a mega Yoga event at its Multipurpose Sports Stadium at Katra, the base town for pilgrimage to the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji, this morning. A large number of children, prominent citizens, people of the area, pilgrims, officers and staff of the Shrine Board and officers and jawans of CRPF participated in the Yoga event.
Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, who was the Chief Guest on this occasion, inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
To observe" International Day Of Yoga", District Administration Udhampur organized a Yoga camp in collaboration with Government Degree College(Boys) Udha-mpur in the college premises today. More than 1000 NCC cadets from various schools and colleges of the district as well as Katra town participated in the International Yoga day with full enthusiasm.
The Minister of State for Finance & IT,. Pawan Kumar Gupta was the chief guest while District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary was the guest of honor on the occasion. While speaking on the occasion, Minister lauded the efforts of District Administration Udhampur for holding a mega programme . He said that Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition and it embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature.
Sports Authority of India Sports Training Centre Jammu observed International Yoga Day with a special Yoga class for all its coaches, staff and trainees in the Basketball, complex of the MA Stadium. Various yogic exercises were performed under the guidance of Rajesh Bandral, yoga instructor who explained the advantages of Yoga and demonstrated various yogic postures.
He also called upon the players to incorporate Yoga and meditation in their training curriculum for better sports performance.
VK Sharma, incharge STC thanked all the players and also guests and parents who joined the special class to commemorate International Yoga Day.
