JAMMU, Aug 23 : Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) organized a Pahari Mushiara here today at Bhargav Model School, Gadigarh. Kaana Singh, renowned Punjabi short story writer from Chandigarh presided the proceedings of the programme. Khalid Hussain, prominent Punjabi and Urdu short story writer was the chief guest Vikas Sharma, Principal, Bhargav Model School, Gadigarh, was the guest of honour. Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, JKAACL was also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Kaana Singh complimented Cultural Academy for organizing Phahari Mushiara and said that the success of this Mushiara itself reflects the richness and standard poetry being written in this region. She also applauded the poets for their poetry presented in the mushiara. Khalid Hussain, while speaking on the occasion appreciated the poets who recited their poetry in Pahari and said that Pahari belt of Poonch, Rajouri area is rich in creative writing and has produced many national and international repute poets, short story writers and intellectuals in Punjabi, Pahari and other regional languages. Addressing the gathering Dr Arvinder Singh Amn said that J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organized this Pahari mushiara first time in this area only to create an environment while large number of Pahari speaking local audience present in this mushiara can interact with the poets of their language. |
