Cong convenes convention, prepares blue print for Rahul Gandhi's visit

KATHUA, Aug 23: Congress workers today convened one day convention in Kathua to prepare blue print for national Vice- President of Indian National Congress Rahul Gandhi's proposed visit that begins from August 26.
Congress leader Jitendra Singh alias Babu Singh disclosed the programme before media and said Congress Kathua Unit is leaving no stone unturned to make the visit of Rahul Gandhi a grand success. He informed that Gandhi would interact with ceasefire violations affected people in Jammu on August 26 and move towards Kashmir then Ladakh to interact with people for asking their grievances.
Babu Singh alleged that from the day one of the formation of the present government it has been marred with controversies.
"This government kick started controversies from the day one when it credited the separatists and the fringe elements for the successful completion of the elections in the state," he said.
He said that since its inception the government has been taking controversial decisions and "such decisions have vitiated the security related environment in the state".
He also alleged that in the past 100 days incidents of anti-India activities have accelerated in the Kashmir valley whereas mobile towers were attacked and pro-Pakistan slogans and flags were raised in Kashmir.
Singh said that the BJP which once claimed to be the champion of the voice of the people of Jammu region have given up its ideology to stay in power.
"BJP has given up its agenda on article 370, West Pakistan refugees, disparity with Jammu, Hindu Chief Minister and Chief Minister from Jammu, from the day one they (BJP) has surrendered to PDP for being in power," senior Congress leader Naresh Sharma said.
Congres leaders further said that Kathua unit would attend the function in Jammu on August 26 with nearly 300 workers who would project their demands and express grievances before national leader for redressal.
