POONCH, Aug 23: Three children, including two siblings, were drowned while crossing a river in the Surankote area of frontier Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said here today.
The children were crossing the Suran River on their way to home from School when all of a sudden water current increased and they got washed away with the flow, a police officer said.
The three have been identified as Rafaqat Ali (7) and siblings Nazakat Ali (8) and Shifayat Ali (11), he said.
Rescue work was launched by the police and two bodies were fished out last evening whereas the third body was recovered today morning, he said. |
