Udhampur, Aug 24: Police today claimed to have rescued two bovine animals when they foiled a bovine smuggling bid with the arrest of one person and seized a vehicle at Jakheni National Highway Udhampur. "The accused has been identified as Mohamad Alam (driver) s/o Ali Mohamed of Soura Kashmir, police said. According to police report, on reliable information, a Police Party of Police Station Udhampur laid a surprise naka near Jakhani at National Highway and intercepted a Tavera Car bearing Regd No JK021W-9846. "During the questioning the vehicle was found loaded with two bovine animals which were illegally being transported towards Kashmir as the occupant of vehicle failed to procure the documents for their inter district transportation, police said and added that the accused was arrested on the spot. In this connection, a case Under Section 188/RPC 3 PCA Act stands registered at Police Station Udhampur.
