Jammu, Aug 24: NIA today filed an application in the court of CJM, Jammu, praying for recording the statement of captured Pak terrorist Mohammad Naved under 164 of CrPC (confessional statement). CJM Sunit Gupta, after going through the application, sent the Pak terrorist to judicial custody till August 26 next. In the application, it was submitted that the evidence relates to links of the accused of the instant case with LeT and it has also been revealed that the terror outfit was involved in recruitment and training in large scale in Pakistan to carry out violent terrorist acts in the name of jihad which is threat to integrity and security of the India. It was stated that during the custodial examination of the accused person certain facts came in to light regarding the larger conspiracy behind instant terrorist act which includes entire network of conspirators, supporters, financers, facilitators and handlers of accused Mohammad Naved. That from disclosure of the accused persons during examination and through the filed investigations, it is established that accused person is part and parcel of the larger conspiracy hatched by the LeT organization to carry out subversive activities in the state of J&K. In the application it is further submitted that the accused Naveed expressed his willingness to give statement before the court. (JNF) |
