Ways to raise educational standards of Govt schools
Sunaina Malik8/24/2015 11:54:42 PM
A school is akin to the root of a tree. For apt boom
and maturity of a tree, we always nurture its roots. Likewise, if we crave our children to shine as a star on the sky of accomplishment then we ought to be serious regarding the schooling of our toddlers. No doubt, today foremost fraction of our society is leaving no stone unturned in providing appropriate atmosphere to their children. As we know that there are two types of schools in our society, govt established institution and privately patronized schools. In case of Govt established institutions there is well qualified teaching staff along with well build infrastructure. These schools are also provided with mid-day meal facility so that student may not avoid studies under hunger. There is also a special provision of PeT. Staff along with well constructed play ground facility for over all development of body and soul of a student. Govt has also ensured separate toilet facility for boys and girls. There is a long list of monitoring officers from Head Master to Z.E.O, from Z.E.O to C.E.O, from C.E.O to Director, from Director Education to Sectary, from Sectary to Education Minister. In addition to this, there is also a long list of teams from DIET and Audit department which monitor Govt. institutions from time to time. In spite of this, loopholes in our govt Education system debar it to compete with the annual results of private institution.
Low academic results of our Govt. schools have become a problem in political corridors and from time to time they implement various central and state schemes to reform our Education system but all in vain. Following are some of the most practical steps which undoubtly would revolutionize our Education system. (1) Start of Nursery Classes; for a multistoried building, a constructor strengthen its base. If, that base is poorly construction the building will surely loose its very existence. Similarly Govt. education system lacks three basic years of Nursery classes.
A child with blank mind has to learn Alphabets, words, sentence, and paragraph in only first years of admission as per his syllabus prescribed by state board of school education, which is impossible under normal circumstances. This further widens the gap between a student and a book. As nourishment of only roots can help in growth of a plant similarly start of nursery classes will give new heights to ailing Education standard of govt established Institutions. (2) Compulsory TPM (Teacher Parent Meeting). As we all know that there is a monthly meeting provision between high officials Education system but I am very apologetic to say that there is no legal provision of TPM in govt schools. Indifference of parents toward education of their children is the big loophole in govt Education System. As it is impossible to fill an air in a defected balloon similarly no policy would give a 100% out put unless and until parents will co-operate. So parents of Govt. school students should be legally bound to attend TPM once in a month. (3) Govt servant's children to govt schools. As we all know teacher is the soul of body of Education. Amid innumerable loopholes of our Education system lack of a teacher's dedication, punctuality, hard work and loyalty towards his profession is also one of them.
This biggest problem can only be solved by a govt order ordering every govt Employee to admit his or her child in a govt school like in state of U.P, where Allahabad High court directed U.P Chief Sectary to ensure Govt. servant, Elected Representative and Members of Judiciary and all person who get benefit or salary from state exchequer or public fund send their children to primary school run by State Board for secondary Education. A human can con any one but can never compromise with the future of his children. Presence of their own children in Govt. school would automatically make them Punctual, hard worker, enthusiastic and devoted towards his profession. In the conclusion, I would like to appeal to the government, especially the education minister, to ponder over above mention suggestions. I am sure these steps would prove as miles stones in the history of education. After wards our Education atmosphere would breed by its own self.
