Students demonstrate against shortage of staff at GZS-GDC

Reasi, Aug 24: The students of General Zorawar Singh Govt Degree College (GZS-GDC) Reasi today staged a protest demonstration against the shortage of staff in their college. Holding banners and placards, the agitating students marched from college to Bus Stand Reasi while raising slogans in support of their demands. The agitating students also blocked the Court Road and the Main Chowk of Reasi.A large number of students (including girls) participated in the protest and criticised the government for not providing teaching staff and basic facilities to the college. They said that most of the posts of teachers at the college were vacant from the past several years. "The precious time of students was being wasted owing to shortage of teachers," they added. The protesting students asked the government and local administration to take notice of the issue and fill the vacant posts of teachers. They said that they would be left no other option but to launch protest rallies if the vacant posts were not filled as early as possible.
DDC Sushma Chauhan and other civil administrative officials rushed tio spot and assured them to take up the issue with the authorities concerned.
ABVP National Executive Member Raghav Kesar, State Joint Secretary ABVP Abhinav Pandotra, City Vise President Vishal Banathia, and etc students were present in this protest.
Meanwhile some students led by NSUI District Vice President Asaf Hussain and other leaders participated in this protest while , Riaz Ahmed, Ashu Devi, Salma, Tariq Sheik, Eisha Sharma, Poonam Sharma also were present in this thi9s protest
