Rajouri, Aug 24: As a part of drive against menace of bovine smuggling, Rajouri Police foiled a bovine smuggling bid with the arrest of one bovine smuggler during a naka checking at Chatyar in Rajouri district. Police spokesperson said, the accused has been identified namely as Ajaz Ahmed of Behrote Thanamandi of Rajouri. "On specific information, a police party led by in-charge Police Post Chingus, S/I Mohd Fareed under the supervision of SHO Rajouri Inspector Yashpaul Singh Jamwal, laid a naka at intervening night of 23/24, the police team intercepted a TATA Mobile bearing regd no.3685-JK02S. "During thorough search of vehicle police found 08 animals which were being illegally transported from Rajouri to Srinagar via Mughal Road illegal smuggled toward Srinagar without permission, police said. Police seized the vehicle and arrested the occupant of vehicle on the spot. In this connection a case under FIR No. 421/2015 u/s 188 of RPC 3 PCA Act has been registered at Rajouri police station and investigation going on. Pertinently Rajouri Police under its intensified drive against bovine smugglers since early this year have registered 85 cases of bovine smuggling against 162 persons and rescued 513 bovine animals besides seizing 50 vehicles so far. |
