JAMMU, Aug 22: A minister is alleged to have spoken to a senior officer at PHQ for the posting of a SHO in his constituency.
Acting on his recommendation, the PHQ was expected to order his posting in a day or two, police sources said.
He is at present posted as SHO of a police which is close to the minister's constituency. Earlier, a Sub-Inspector headed this police station for a long time. After his transfer to Jammu from another police wing, he was posted as SHO of a police station here.
"The Inspector, who is presently the SHO of the police station in his constituency, has come from Kathua. He is also close to the minister, but he wants him transferred as he prefers an MLA to him," the sources added, saying he wanted to replace him with the SHO whose name had already been recommended by him. |
