Tangmarg, Aug 25: Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Tangmarg, Baramulla, is alleged to have provided misleading information to an RTI activist. He was provided hundreds of pages of the information against the photostat charges of Rs 2,000, RTI activist Nisar Ahmad Parra of Larkipora, Tangmarg, said, alleging that most of this information was irrelevant and misleading. Before filing the RTI application, he had approached the SDM's office for the issuance of RBA certificate in favour of his sister. The Baramulla DC too had asked the SDM to issue the certificate, he claimed. However, when the SDM's office did not issue the certificate, Parra filed an application under RTI Act before the Tangmarg SDM's office on May 19, 2016, seeking information about the action taken by SDM office on the DC's letter and action taken against Naib-Tehsildar, Goigam, for allegedly not providing RBA beneficiary lists of Karhama, Kunzer and Tangmarg tehsils of 2 years. It may be mentioned here that a few months back officials of the financial commissioner (revenue) had allegedly charged Rs 3,100 from an RTI activist against the photostat charges of 45 pages. |
