Op Pathshala-II: Students visit City Police Station, awareness lecture also held

Jammu, Sept 17: In continuation to drive started by SSP Jammu Sunil Gupta, under Operation "Paathshala"-II, today students of Government Central Basic Hr Sec School, Purani Mandi, Jammu were invited to visit Police Station City, Jammu to know the Police functioning.
Pertinent to mention here that Operation Paathshala Part -I is regarding visit of Police Officers to different Schools and Colleges for apprising the students about "Drug- Menace" and its consequences and Part-II of operation "Paathshalla" is regarding inviting students of different Schools to visit various Police Stations and to make them understand Police functioning and to remove hiccups from their minds in coming to Police Stations in lieu of lodging complaints etc.
During the programme school children were apprised about Police Station functioning. Some enthusiastic students also showed their keen interest to join Police as their ambition. Students were also told about "Dial 100" facility for immediate redressal of any complaint while they were also told not to befriend any stranger who comes their way whenever they are alone as the said stranger can be potential kidnapper. Police officials also briefed the students about Community Policing and to make it a point to share information with Police about any crime and were also shown the lock-up of Police Station City, Jammu and children were advised not to be inclined towards criminal activities in any stage of their lives as this would certainly land a person in such lock-up.
Students were also told to keep a distance from drug menace as it can spoil their career and can lead to even painful death. They were also told about general rules of law to be followed by lawful citizen's i.e. like wearing crash helmets while driving two wheelers and never drive without driving license.
Yet in another similar occasion an awareness proigramme was organized under operation 'Paathshala' at Govt Degree College, Khour.
The programme was organized by SDPO Akhnoor in which students, faculty membersa and SHO Khour and Capt Amandeep Singh were also participated. On this occasion students were made aware about the drugs, their harmful effects in their life while they also were exhorted to adhere to road safety i.e. not driving without helmet, not using of mobile phone while driving or road crossing etc.
In the end College Principal presented vote of thanks to the gathering.
