Jammu, Sept 17: Fast Track Court Presiding Officer Kishore Kumar today rejected the bail application of a rape accused. Bhupinder Kumar (23), son of Sham Lal of ward No 13, Arnia, was alleged to have committed sodomy with a, eight year old girl. As per the girl's statement recorded under section 164 A of CrPC, she had gone for tuition on the day of the incident. Since the tutor had yet not come, she along with her brother went to a nearby park, where the accused was already present. He allegedly forced her to sit on the pillion seat of his motorcycle and then took her to an unknown place where he committed sodomy with her. Thereafter, the accused dropped her at an isolated place and threatened to kill her in case she revealed the incident to anybody. The court, after hearing both the sides, observed that crime of rape had been increasing very rapidly in the society. In case the accused is granted bail, faith and confidence of people at large will definitely be shattered for the criminal judicial system, he said. With these observations, the court rejected the bail application of the accused.(JNF) |
