Early Times Report

Bhaderwah, Sept 17: Hundreds of people on the second consecutive day today protested in Dradu of Bhaderwah against the shifting of Naib Tehsil Office from the area to adjoining Balra locality and locked the office of Naib Tehsildar to register besides burning effigy of the state government to register their resentment.
Over 1000 people including women assembled for a day-long protest outside Naib Tehsildar office in Dradu early this morning and later marched towards the Bhaderwah -Doda to register their protest.
Protesters also burnt effigies of the state government and Revenue department amid slogans against officials of the Revenue Department.
However, the bid of protest march was foiled when officials concerned assured the people that they will bring their demanded into notice of higher ups .
"Our protest will continue till the order is revoked. Government and administration has ignored the status quo order of High Court which has approved Naib Tehsil status to Dradu locality which is based on centre of seven Panchayats," said Roshan Lal Bhagat a Sarpanch of area .
Protestors maintained that two years back new administrative units was announced at Dradu area but now in a pre planned conspiracy hatched by state government and administration now is shifting the tehsil office to far flung Chinta which will not be tolerated at any cost . Balwant Singh Manhas , Sushma Devi , Sachin Sharma , Rajni Devi , Anchu Kotwal , Balkrishan ,Reshi Kumar and others also spoke on the occasion and said if the government goes ahead with its plan to shift the office of Naib Tehsildar the locals will not deter to resist it strongly and block the Bhaderwah Doda road for an indefinite period. The protesters further said they would continue their peaceful protest till Government revokes the "biased and politically motivated" order.
