Civil society forum for stern action against anti-social elements in Rajouri

Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 17: The convener of the all Jammu Civil Society Forum (AJCSF) Gulchain Singh Charak expressed deep concern over the communal tension prevailing in Rajouri and asked the civil administration and the State Government to come clean over the actual issue, rather than brushing it aside below carpet.
It was alarming that the situation is far from normal even after four days. The culprits must be booked and dealt with strictly under provisions of law while dereliction of duty on behalf of civil administration, if noticed must be accounted for and those found guilty be punished.
"It is sad that the unfortunate incident took place after clear and timely warning by the AJCSF and request for deploying additional resources to keep the communal infection contained and immediate control of any flash points", said Charak. He took note of the visit by some politicians and the investigations ordered by the government and emphasized that the whole exercise must not end up in the usual practice of gaining time to diffuse the situation before the issue is brushed aside and forgotten.
He exhorted all the concerned Government agencies and security forces to keep utmost vigil to prevent the sparks of discord from troubled parts of Kashmir to flash any trouble in the otherwise peaceful and law abiding Jammu region of the J&K State. He also called upon members of the AJCSF and its Rajouri unit to fan out to ensure no escalation of the prevailing tensions and take all possible measures to retain communal harmony, brotherhood and peace.
