Govt to sell maize at Rs 1 per Kg 10/9/2016 11:08:13 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 9:In an effort to promote cultivation of maize in Jammu and Kashmir, the state government is planning to procure 2,000 metric tonnes of maize on trial basis which will be sold to consumers at Rs 1 per kg under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). "To encourage maize farming and facilitate farmers of the state, the government is planning to procure 2,000 metric tonnes of maize on trail basis which will be provided to people at Rs 1 per kg under NFSA," State Minster for Food, . The minister who conducted a review meeting of the department directed the officials to freeze the data byOctober 20, so that the process of shifting to online system would be expedited.
