Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 11: Municipal Committee (MC), Katra has turned a blind eye towards the buildings which had been sealed by the High Court as they continue their commercial operations in the holy town. "Most of the buildings which were sealed by the High Court are still functioning", said sources adding that there some mediators had struck deal with the officials of the committee for remaining silent over the grave violation amounting to contempt of court. Pertinent to mention here that earlier a case under FIR No. 230/17 under sections under 353, 378, 468, 202, 201, 189, 188, 187, 186, 183, 179, 177, 175, 120B, 119 and 114 of RPC was registered at Police station Katra against the erring guest house owner who despite court orders, completed his hotel and threw it open for business. Even, after registration of FIR against the erring guest house owner for allegedly running the commercial premises despite sealing orders of High Court, the building was not re-sealed by the municipal committee and no action was taken against the said guest house owner. "The guest house owner is an ex employee of Municipal Committee Katra who had allegedly greased the palms of the officials of committee owing to which they failed to re seal the building even after registration of FIR for contempt of court" a local divulged. |
