| EAF appeals Forest Minister to retrieve Pargwal wetland | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, May 18: Environment Awareness Forum (EAF) today appealed Forest Minister for constituting of a high level inquiry so as to retrieve Pargwal Wetland Jammu and fix responsibility for giving away on consideration.
"Who have been shielded under influence. It shall be a litmus test for the new incumbent . A very grave affair that those at the helm of affairs to protect preserve and improve allowed it to go so. Neither anyone supposed to keep watch ever asked about its vanishing in thin air, nor any one held responsible It did not happen in a single night but over decades slowly steadily was given away on consideration. One of the largest Wetland in the Jammu province was given on to the encroachers at least not free. Leaving no trace of it on the spot despite hard search for long time", Bushan Parimo said.
He further alleged that it has not been just a speck of land to be gobbled without trace but as huge as 49.27 Sq kms as per the records with concerned department who owns it. |
