BJP snubs senior leader for going public on its attempts to form Govt in J&K
7/10/2018 12:00:55 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, July 9: Bharatiya Janata Party high command is learnt to have snubbed a senior leader of the party for making party attempts on Government formation in Jammu and Kashmir public even as efforts are still on for installation of a Hindu Chief Minister after completion of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.
According to the highly placed sources in BJP circles, the party high command has reprimanded the senior leader for issuing statements to media on government formation, which have provided an opportunity to National Conference, Congress and others to raise the pitch for dissolution of the state Assembly.
While elaborating, sources said that Ram Madhav, BJP national general secretary and incharge J&K affairs, as well as BJP national organizing secretary Ram Lal separately rang up the senior leader and virtually sought explanation from him over his purported statements on government formation. They sought to know from the senior leader how many PDP MLAs were in touch with him and were ready to shift loyalties.
As the BJP leader had no answer to their query, sources said that both the senior BJP leaders snubbed him for making statements, which could damage the party initiatives for Government formation in the State. They (Ram Madhav and Ram Lal) are learnt to have told the senior BJP leader to maintain silence till he gets further directions from the high command.
Further, in an attempt to divert attention from moves on Government formation, Ram Madhav also issued a statement claiming that BJP was not making attempts in this regard.
However, notwithstanding Ram Madhav's purported statement, sources said that back channel parleys with dissident PDP MLAs were on even as there seems no consensus on a Hindu Chief Minister. As the parleys are still on secretly, the final picture is likely to emerge by the conclusion of ongoing Amarnath Yatra, sources said.
