Jammu, July 10: The 18th J&K State Sport Climbing Championship shall be organized by Mountaineering Association of J&K in collaboration with Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab Jammu from 4th to 5th August, 2018.
About 200 climbers from various districts of the state including Jammu, Udhampur, Reasi, Samba, Kathua, Anantnag, Srinagar, Badgam and Ganderbal besides Pulwama, Poonch, Rajouri and Doda shall vie for honors in the two day competition. In case the participation exceeds 200 climbers, preliminary rounds of certain categories for Jammu district climbers shall be conducted a day earlier.
The competitions shall be held in eight categories of Men, Women (born in 2001,2000 and earlier), Boys, Girls (born in 2002, 2003& 2004), Sub Jr. Boys / Girls (born in 2005 and 2006) and Mini Boys / Girls (born in 2007 and after). Except for Mini Boys and Girls who shall participate in 'lead climbing' only, participants in all other categories shall compete both in 'lead climbing' and 'speed climbing.'
