NMC seeks release of 4% DA

Jammu, Dec 30: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release the pending installment of 4 per cent DA due from January 1st 2019 for both central state governments employees and pensioners, so that these classes would get sigh of relief from rising prices and inflation. "The prices index which was 6.89 per cent in June 30 this year increased to 12.49 per cent in 31 December, 2018, the rate of compensation was revised every six months based on average of the consumer price index for previous months and this would be the 6th biannual increase since the recommendation of the 7th pay commission which was accepted by the Central Government in 2016," Shastri said this while addressing a well attended NMC workers meet here.
He urged Prime Minister to take this decision in this regard at the forthcoming Union Cabinet meeting. Shastri said that prices of all essential commodities had gone up and there was no justification on Central Government's part to withhold this installment of DA. Urging the Prime Minister to substantially offer a relief to middle class, Shastri Said that since the Lok Sabha election for 2019 are to be held in next 3 to 4 months, the NDA government at the Centre should finally pay attention to this very important class constituency which has so for not been provided benefits of the recommendation of Ashok Lawasa committee which report stand submitted over one year to the Union Finance Minister for his approval, but no action has been taken so far, Shastri termed Prime Minister, a man of astute political wisdom and a humane administrator, and the Modi on a mission will surely address this issue for the betterment of this highly useful salaried class. Among others who were present in the meeting included Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S.Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Romesh Sharma, Gara Ram, Natha Ram, Ram Singh, Darshan Bawa, Surinder Kumar, Sardhri Lal, Mohd. Sadeeq and others.
