Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 14: All JK National Health Mission (NHM) Employees Association, Jammu held 48 hours protest demonstration at Press Club Jammu today stating as a reminder to State Government of the pending primary demand of regularization and continuous neglect of Government towards genuine demands of NHM Employees.
One of the employees said that in the past we have protested and demanded our genuine regularization but time and time again we have been forced to come on the streets. Instead of working towards resolution of demands the said Committee played a very negative role through dilly dallying tactics and did nothing for almost 9 months. The high level group of Officers had to meet continuously from time to time with representatives of All JK NHM Employees Association for working towards resolution of issues.
The employees association in single voice demanded immediate 20% salary hike, 6 months paid maternity leave for female NHM Employees, one month earned leave on pattern of Orissa model agreed by then Health Minister and signed by then Principal Secretary Health & Medical Education, Dr. Pawan Kotwal had to be implemented immediately through proper government order.
"But instead of this, these demands were very cleverly and in deceitful manner referred to the Group of Officers Committee which was not required at all.
As per mandate mentioned in the GAD order the Group of Officers had to continuously meet from time to time with the representatives of All JK NHM Employees Association for working towards development of framework for regularization process", President All J&K NHM Employee association said.
AII JK NHM Employees Association again is reiterating the long pending demand of regularization of NHM Employees and seeks implementation of 7th Pay Commission for NHM Employees as has been already done in case of other central sponsored scheme like SSA (Saiva Shiksha Abhiyan) so that he financial plight of low paid NHM Employees can be improved to some extent.
Also in the National Health Mission Employees' Association held a massive protest in support of their demands at Gandoh. The protest was led by NHM president Mushtaq Ahmed. A large number of employees of the NHM assembled in CHC Gandoh and raised slogan and shouting against the State Government. They alleged that the state government totally failed in all fronts and failed to regulate of NHM employees.
