Jammu, Mar 14: The 9th J&K Rifle Shooting Championship concluded at Delhi Public School, Jammu with a grand Prize Distribution Ceremony here today. The event was presided over by the Chief Guest, M.K Ajatshatru Singh President, RCT, MLC-J&K and former Cabinet Minister-Sports, Transport, Tourism and Information. Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, President, J&K Rifle Association was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. About 300 men and women shooters of the District Rifle Associations of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Reasi, Baramulla, Srinagar & JKP along with DPS Club Jammu, Kartar Public School-Kathua, General Zorawar Singh Rifle Club, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board-Katra & J&K Police Club, Jammu participated in the said Championship. M.K Ajatshatru Singh gave away the medals and certificates to the winners and participants. A total of 16 Gold Medals, 14 Silver Medals and 13 Bronze Medals were won by the shooters in U/15, U/18, U/21 and Open Categories. DPS Jammu students Divyansh and Ojasvini brought laurels to the school by winning gold & silver medals respectively. Kuldeep Singh Jamwal expressed happiness on the successful completion of the 9th J&K Rifle Shooting Championship. He also congratulated all the winners, organizers and Authorities of DPS Jammu who made all necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the event. He also called upon the shooters to take advantage of the World Class Shooting Ranges available in the state and hoped that the participating shooters will bring glory to the state in the Olympics, Common Wealth Games and other International Championships in future. Speaking on the occasion, M.K Ajatshatru Singh highly appreciated the authorities of J&K Rifle Association and DPS Jammu for holding the 9th J&K Rifle Shooting Championship very successfully. He also congratulated all participants of the championship particularly the winners and urged the educational institutions to inculcate the Yoga & Meditation in their curriculum so as to nurture the power of focus and concentration among the youth. |
