Jammu, Apr 18: April 18 is observed as "World Heritage Day" every year to celebrate and promote Cultural Heritage across the world. International Council on monuments & sites in 1982 suggested that April 18 be celebrated as the International Day for monuments & sites. ICOMOS says the "essential aspect is to mark this day so that it becomes not only a day to celebrate your National Heritage but also a day of strengthening and safeguarding Heritage World wide". Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu organized a short visit for its students to Dogra Art Museum, Mubarak Mandi, Jammu in order to make them aware about Dogra Culture traditions & lifestyle. Students were very excited and felt mesmerized by seeing the different dresses, jewellery, weapons and other materials related to Dogra Culture. It was a great learning experience for students. Principal cum Vice-Chairperson of the school Rohini Aima asserted that students must be aware of all the monuments and sites of their native state.
