Valley people have no sympathy with detained leaders: Khanna
10/18/2019 10:10:09 PM

Early Times Report

Srinagar, Oct 18: Binding up his Kashmir visit after three days campaigning in favour of party candidates for Block Development Councils (BDCs), BJP National Vice President & Jammu Kashmir, Prabhari, Avinash Rai Khanna, said that the Valley people have no sympathy with the detained leaders, to whom they hold responsible for promoting corruption, dynastic rule and slow pace of development.
Avinash Rai Khanna, during the last three days, held series of meetings at Anantnag, Baramulla and Srinagar with Sarpanches, Panches to garner their support. He also met party leaders to review the progress of organisational elections.
Avinash Rai Khanna said that there is enthusiasm among the voters for the BDCs and that they have shown zero concern to the poll bycot of Congress, NC and PDP, which exposes the hollow claims of these parties that they hold command over masses and are masters of Kashmir. He said that over the last two months, no one except the family members of the leaders of Kashmir have objected to or protested against their detaining, which itself proves that none is with them and that people want freedom from dynastic parties and contribute in strengthening the democracy in real sense. Khanna said that out of 137 seats in Valley, elections are to be held in 130 seats and a large number of 520 candidates are in fray, which indicate that the people are happy with the abrogation of Article 370 and have no sympathy with such leaders who misled them during all these 70 years but did nothing for development, progress and prosperity of the state. During his meetings with party leaders in Valley, Khanna stressed upon them to inform the voters of BDCs about the commitment of the BJP to strengthen the democracy at the grass root level with the active participation of the elected representatives of Panchayats in matters of development and welfare of the people. The National Vice President is also going to undertake visit of Jammu and Ladakh for campaigning for party candidates and hold meetings with the party leaders to get feedback of the ongoing organisational elections. He will be in Jammu on October 19 and later to Leh on October 21.
