| Shops, godowns sealed for selling contaminated sweets | | |

SAMBA, Oct 18: Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, today conducted inspection of sweets manufacturing units in Bari-Brahmana and Vijaypur and sealed 4 godowns, 2 shops, 4 manufacturing units for adulteration, unhygienic conditions and mixing of extraneous material.
Senior Superintended of Police Shakti Pathak and other senior officers accompanied the DC during the inspection. Deputy Commissioner visited Bari-Brahmana, Palli and Vijaypur area and sealed M/S Durga Sweets R/O Vijaypur, M/S Kiran Sweet Shop R/O Vijaypur, M/S Trikuta Sweets R/O Palli, Bari- Brahmana and M/S Ram Dass R/O W.No. 03 Bari- Brahmana, several sweets were found contaminated. DC directed the authorities for initiating legal course of action against the owners.
This action was taken by District Administration in response to various complaints received.
Deputy Commissioner appealed locals for remaining extra cautious while buying sweets from the market this festival season and were advised to approach District Administration immediately in case of any suspicion.
DC directed the team of AD Food CAPD, and AC legal metrology and designated officer food safety, for intensifying market checking besides submitting daily work done report in his office. |
